Book Review: The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson

Hey Guys!

Once again it is time for another book review! This week it is time for another summery book. It is the turn of ‘The Unexpected Everything’ by Morgan Matson.

The Unexpected Everything 2
You have no idea how long it took to get this photo lol

This book is really sweet. Like, really sweet. It is quiet an easy going story, there aren’t really to many difficult storylines. I quiet enjoyed it.

The storylines where enjoyable enough although a little predictable A couple of the big plot twists where pretty obvious. Generally all the storylines where well developed and interesting, it was just a shame that some of the twists where so obvious. But I did enjoy the story. It was really sweet at times, although I do sort of wish that the book had focused a little bit more on certain storylines, as opposed to having like a dozen storylines going on at once. It kind of left everything feeling as if it was happening a little bit fast so it all kind of a bit, not so much underdeveloped, but….underdeveloped…..if that makes sense. It just felt as if there could have been a lot more to some storylines.

I did really like the characters though. Andie is really sweet. I love how much she grows as a person during this book. By the end of the book she is a completely different person. I really like her. But I then I also liked Clark. And I personally think that they are a really cute couple. They are one of those couples that just work. I’m sure you will all know what I mean when I say that some fictional couples don’t really work and some just do. Andie and Clark just do. They click really well. They just work brilliant. They seem so natural and genuine together I love them.

Although, I will admit, it did take a very long time to get into it. And when I say a long time, I really mean a long time. I was nearly 200 pages into it before I started to get into it. I think the main reason that it took me so long to get into was because of the length of the chapters. Honestly, they are stupidly long. There are about 500 pages in this book and only 20 chapters (the last of which was only about 4 pages) so you can imagine how long each chapter is. Honestly I felt like I had been reading for about an hour and not reached the end of a chapter.

Overall I did really enjoy this book (although it did take me forever to read). I will definitely be buying more of Matson’s books. This book was just such a lovely summer read. It was just a very easy story.

am I the only the person that found this book hard to get into? Or was that just me? Oh well. I got there eventually. I hope that you have enjoyed this review. I will see you all again soon.
