Illumicrate Unboxing

Hey Guys!

Once again it is time for another Illumicrate unboxing! In case you don’t know what Illumicrate is, it is a monthly bookish subscription service based in the UK. Each month’s box contains a newly released book (normally hardback, normally signed and usually an exclusive edition with an exclusive cover or sprayed edges) and 4 to 6 bookish items all centered around a common theme. January’s theme was The Strength Within. So, let’s do this!

Sidenote: I am in no way affiliated with Illumicrate. I buy the boxes with my own money and I unbox them because I find it fun to do and I really like these sorts of posts

I quite liked this box. I really liked the fact that this month we got two books. I had guessed what the paperback was going to be, but I had never heard of the other book. both books sound incredible and I am really excited to read both of them. I also really liked the items in this month’s box. I think that the beanie is really cute, and I love the Daughter Of Smoke And Bones quote. I’ll admit that I probably won’t ever wear it, purely as beanies do not suit me due to my giant, giant head, but it is a really nice beanie. I also loved the wooden feather bookmark, I think that it is stunning and is going to look so nice in photos. Then there is the coin purse, which again, is really sweet. I like that it is double-sided and has something different on both sides and I like that it has an attached keyring. And I am so excited about the book light. I was thinking to myself that I need a book light literally the day before my box arrived, so I am very happy that I don’t have to go and buy one now. as always I love the magnetic coin. They all live on my TBR cart and I love how they all look together. And then finally there is the print. I don’t have any particular feelings about it. it’s nice but not my favorite. I’m not a huge fan of holographic prints in general as they don’t photograph well, but the actual art is pretty enough. all in all, a pretty good box to kick of 2020.

Do you get any subscription boxes? Have you ever tried Illumicrate? Have you read either of the books included in this month’s box? I hope that you have enjoyed today’s post and I will see you all again very soon.
