2019 Reading Wrap Up

Hey Guys!

Another year has been and gone and that means that it is time for me to wrap up my reading year! I have made this post for the last few years now and I love it. I love being able to really easily look back on how I did each year. so, I am doing it again. A lot of the information I am going to be talking about has been pulled from my Goodreads (which I update religiously throughout the year). so, let’s do this!

In 2019 I read a grand total of 88 books, smashing my 75 book target. This was a step down from last the last two years where I read over 100, both years, but I am still really happy with it. 2019 was a much more relaxed reading year for me. 17 of these books were rereads, but the other 71 were all brand new to me, at least 12 of which were also new releases, published in 2019. Overall I read 27,147 pages, with an average book length of 308 pages. My shortest book was Opal by Maggie Stiefvater at 38 pages (which was also a reread) and my longest book was Cress by Marissa Meyer which checked in at 550 pages.

Of the 88 books that I read this year I ended up rating an incredible 60 of them 4 stars or more! I read some really amazing books in 2019, particularly in the first half of the year. I only DNF’d 1 book in 2019 and rated only 2 books 1 star! My average rating this year was 3.8, 0.2 higher than last year.

I am really pleased with how I did in 2019, but it wasn’t an easy reading year for me. I struggled with reading slumps all year and found it really difficult to fit reading into my everyday life. I started the year planning to try and do 100 books again but realized by about February that, that wouldn’t be possible. There where some weeks where I would read 8 books in a week and others where I wouldn’t even manage 1. This was especially the case as the year progressed. But, thankfully, I am finally crawling my way out of the slump. I stuck at it and I managed to achieve my goal. So, here are all the books that I read in 2019 (not in order, that was too much effort 😂)

I am so proud of myself for doing so well last year. I cleared a massive chunk of my never-ending TBR pile, especially as my book buying also slowed down a lot in 2019. If you are wondering all the books that I read in 2018 (except for a few of the rereads has a full, spoiler-free book review up on this blog. Just search the book title, and it will be there. Hopefully, I will be able to say the same thing in a year. So, here is hoping that I have just as good a reading year in 2020

How was your reading year? Did you get through everything that you wanted to read? What was your favorite? If you would like any more information about my reading year, or any of the books that I have mentioned, I have linked my Goodreads wrap up bellow. I hope that you have enjoyed today’s post and I will see you all again soon. Happy reading
