December Wrap Up and January TBR

Hey Guys!

Another month has been and gone and 2019 is nearly over, so that means that it is time for another monthly wrap up and TBR post. I will be doing a full year wrap up next week as well as a separate TBR for 2020, so keep an eye out for them. But without further ado, here is my December Wrap Up and January TBR. Let’s do this!

December is always a strange reading month for me. Since I only read Christmas themed books in the lead up to Christmas I often end up in a minor slump. Most Christmas books are contemporary and very romance based, two genres that I don’t often find myself reading. This year was no different. the further into the month we got, the harder I found it to gather the motivation to read. it didn’t help that a couple of the books that I read were pretty meh, meaning that I had even less motivation to carry on reading. But, that is just the way it goes sometimes. But, that’s enough waffling, here are the books that I read in December

Skipping Christmas by John Grisham 1 out of 5

The Christmas Stocking And Other Stories by Katie Fforde 3 out of 5

Christmas Lights by Various 3 out of 5

Love, Secret Santa by S.A Domingo 4 out of 5

The Truth Pixie by Matt Haig 3 out of 5

Kiss Me In New York by Catherine Rider 4 out of 5

As you can see, it was a pretty mixed month for me. I am hoping that January is going to be a much better month for me. So here is what I am hoping to read in January

The Queen Of Nothing by Holly Black

Nancy Drew: The Secret Of The Old Clock by Carolyn Keene

Call Down The Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater

I am super excited about all three of these books. I have been wanting to read Nancy Drew for literally years and the other two are two of my most highly anticipated releases of 2019. Fingers crossed they will manage to lift me out of my slump

And that is about it. Does anyone else suffer from end of year reading slumps? what did you read in December? Anything good? and what are you hoping to read in January? I hope that you have enjoyed today’s post and I will see you all again in 2020
