Its day 23!!! Only 2 more days to go! I honestly can’t believe how quickly this month has gone. It seems to have flown by! Oh well, since we are so far into Blogmas now, I thought that it is about time that I did my Christmas reads post. If you have no idea what I am talking about with that, basically, this post is a cross between a seasonal wrap-up post and a recommendations one. I do this at the end of every season and also at Christmas. All the books in this post are ones that I have been reading so far this festive period and really enjoyed. All of the books are set at or around Christmas time. Basically, they are all perfect books for this time of year, so, here are my Christmas reads.
Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas by Adam Kay
While this book wasn’t as good as the previous book, it is still worth a read! this book is such an important read. while it is funny it is also heartbreaking and really shines a light on how important the NHS is and how much those who work there go through. If you are only going to read one book this Christmas, make sure that it is this one!
The Christmasaurus And The Winter Witch by Tom Fletcher
This book follows the characters from the first book as they are thrown into another, bigger and stranger adventure. I read this book in one sitting. It is festive and fun, and packed full of so much good stuff! I will openly admit that I didn’t think that this book was anywhere near as good as the first book, but it was still a really enjoyable story and it is a great read for Christmas time!
Love, Secret Santa by S A Domingo
This was a surprisingly sweet book. predictable, but sweet. Probably one of the best festive books that I have read so far this year! It actually felt festive! Like well and truly festive and I loved it for that reason. Most of the books that I have read this Christmas season have been a bit meh. most haven’t really felt at all festive, which just plain sucks! But this book actually felt festive! We had ice rinks and Christmas films, advent calendars and Christmas baking, tree decorating, hot chocolate, festive cheer and so much. I loved it. I loved that it gave me all the warm festive feels! It is the first book that I have read this year that has done that to me!
And that is actually about it. I haven’t had the best of luck with my festive reads this year. It has been a bit meh, reading-wise. But, oh well. what have you read this Christmas? Any books that you think that I should check out? I hope that you have enjoyed today’s post and I will see you all again tomorrow
