Hey Guys!

Another week has been and gone and that means that it is time for another book review. today it is the turnoff another unexpected read and that is Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. So, let’s do this!

I decided to pick this book up on a whim after binge watching the recent TV adaptation and completely falling in love with it. and I completely fell in love with the book as well. this is just such an utterly unique and absolutely brilliant story.

I really, really loved this book. it was everything that I hoped that it would be and so much more. I am so impressed by how truly the show stuck to the original book. I honestly picked this book up fully expecting myself to be saying that the show was better and that the book was a bit meh compared to it but I was so wrong. The book was brilliant. I listened to that whole audiobook in just a couple of days. I just couldn’t stop listening, despite already knowing the story because of the TV show. It was still able to completely pull me in and keep my attention. I can definitely see why so many people have read this book over and over again. It is so griping and funny and just utterly unique. It is just an absolutely brilliant book from two absolutely incredible authors.

I think the reason why I loved this book so much was because of the characters. they are just so damn good (excuse the unintentional pun). Admittedly, I can’t unseen Crowley and Aziraphale as David Tennant and Michael Sheen, which may or may not have played a part in why I liked them both so much, I don’t know. what I do know is that they are two of the most interesting characters that I have ever encountered. I think individually they are both great characters. truly fascinating. But I also love their relationship together as well. they are so contrasting but also, somehow so similar. I just adore their friendship and want to see more of it. their dynamic works so well. I just loved witnessing them interact.

All in all, I absolutely adored this book. it was just so good; I can see why so many people have loved it for such a long time. It has because an instant favourite. now, I want to watch the show again

  1. As much as I loved the book, I simply adored the series. My husband on the other hand, well, I think he may be a Good Omens addict. He has read the book twice, as well as watched the series twice. I fear he might go for a three peat 😂 When I get some free time, I really want to check out some more Terry Pratchett. My husband worships at the altar of Neil Gaiman, lol. Me? Not so much.
