Makeup And Books Tag

Hey Guys!

Today I want to do another tag. Today’s tags been around for forever but it contains two things that I love so I thought that I would give it a go. So today I am doing the makeup and books tag. So, let’s do this.

Side note: I’m not sure who originally created this tag, since it has been around for so long. I first saw it on Clockwork Readers YouTube channel, so the original creator may be mentioned in that video.

Primer: Pick a book that left a lasting impression on you

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I read this book about three years ago now, and I still find myself thinking about it now. it is one of those utterly unique books that the whole world needs to read. it will change the way you think and open your eyes to a whole other side of the world, a side that people try and ignore.

Max Factor, Miracle Prep primer

I started using this primer about 4 months ago, after receiving it for free when buying some other items from Max Factor and I freaking love it. It makes my makeup sit beautiful and last all day. highly recommend it. the best low priced primer I have tried. (and I’ve tried many)

Foundation: favourite first book in a series

Clockwork Angel

This book is just out of this world. The Infernal Devices is one of my all-time favourite book series and Clockwork Angel is what made me fall in love, not only with this series, but with Cassandra Clare and the whole Shadowhunter world.

No7 Stay Perfect Foundation (in Calico (I’m pale AF))

The nicest foundation I have ever tried. Good coverage, long lasting, nice finish, reasonable price. Love it.

Eyebrows: pick a book you think everyone should read

A Darker Shade Of Magic by V E Schwab

I consider this to be my favourite book series of all time and so I believe that everyone needs to read it. it is action packed, dramatic, full of magic and incredible characters. I freaking love it!

Benefit Goof Proof

I’ll be honest, I don’t tend to d my eyebrows all the time, I’m just way to lazy. But on the odd occasion that I do, I always use the Benefit Goof Proof Eye Brow Pencil. I just find it really easy to use and it always looks good.

Concealer: Pick some characters you wish didn’t exist

Alina from the Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo

I cannot stand that girl! She is just so whinny and annoying and I always doing stupid things. I almost gave up on the Grisha Trilogy because I found her so irritating. If I could erase her, I 100% would!

Sleek Life Proof Concealer

This is such an underappreciated concealer. It is brilliant. it is really good coverage, really blend-able, comes in tones of colours and is honestly great value. The tube is like triple the size of most concealers but still the same price. And lasts for ages.

Powder: Pick your favourite last book in a series

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

This was such an incredible end to a truly incredible series. it was just the perfect end and I loved it!

Rimmel London, Stay Matte, pressed powder

It’s a classic, but boy is it good!

Eyeshadow: pick a book with your favourite colours on the cover

The Sleeping Prince by Melinda Salisbury (Teal)

Not only is this book cover stunning and covered in teal, it is also a brilliant book. this trilogy deserves way more recognition then it gets.

I Heart Revolution, Chocolate Eye Shadow Pallet in Vice or Soap And Glory, Perfect 10 Pallet

The I Heart Revolution, is a pretty recent discovery but it is such a brilliant pallet. It is the perfect all-rounder. The colours are really pigmented, easy to blend and look lovely. A longer standing favourite is the Soap And Glory one. it is the perfect glitzy pallet.

Eyeliner: Pick a dark and mysterious book

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff

I swear Nevernight is the epitome of dark and mysterious. It is an incredibly dark book, full of drama and violence, and incredibly sassy and badass characters. if you haven’t read Nevernight yet, you need to.

Barry M, Bold Waterproof Eye Liner

I’m not at all loyal to any felt-tip or liquid liner, although I do quite like the Bourjois one or the Soap and Glory one. The only liner I am loyal too is the Barry M, Bold Waterproof liner, which I use to do my waterline. It is the only liner I have actually found that does actually last all day.

Mascara: Pick a long book

A Court Of Wings And Ruin by Sarah J Mass

That book is a fucking beast. It is huge! But also incredible.

Benefit Bad Girl Bang Mascara or Soap And Glory, Thick And Fast Mascara or No7 Lash Extender Mascara

If you haven’t tried the Benefit mascara yet, you really should. It is incredible. It is my go to mascara. Although I do also really love the Soap And Glory one and the No7 one. Both are wonderful. All three give really big volume, lots of length, brilliant colour. I love them all.

Blush: Pick a book with a cringe-worthy romance

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

I cannot stand Sam and Grace together. I find their relationship really, really cringy. I just find it incredibly unhealthy and unrealistic and I freaking hate them together. They just make me cringe so badly.

Soap And Glory, Love At First Blush

I don’t wear blusher every day, but when I do, it is always this one that I reach for. It is just lovely. It is a really soft, subtle blush. It is a glowy and fresh looking and I love it. it just looks really, really nice.

Highlighter: Pick a book that brightens your day

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

There is just something about To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before that always makes me smile. It is such a sweet story. one of the best contemporises that I have ever read.

Obsession, Obsessive Lights, Highlighter Pallet

I hardly ever wear highlighters, purely because I am just far, far too lazy to do it. but, I sometimes wear it for special occasions and when I do I always reach for (my only one) the Obsession, Obsessive Lights pallet. I don’t actually think they make this anymore but it is brilliant. it has 8 different highlighters in it, each in a different shade. There are whites and golds and more natural shades. And they are all early pigmented and lovely. I really should use it more often.

Lipstick: Your favourite book kiss

Jace And Clary, Greenhouse kiss form City Of Bones by Cassandra Clare

The greenhouse kiss from City Of Bones is the first one that springs to mind, but there have definitely been others that I love. for instance, Will and Tessa’s balcony kiss, Jude and Cardan’s couch kiss, Rhys and Feyre’s paint kiss, Rhy and Alucard’s crown kiss….so many. So many.

Max Factor, Colour Elixir Honey Lacquer in Honey Nude

I don’t tend to wear lipstick very often. I just don’t find it very comfortable. If I am going to wear a lip product I tend to go for a gloss. And always in nude. I quiet like the Max Factor Honey Lacquer ones at the moment, I have about 5, but I also quiet like the Soap and Glory Mother Pucker ones, although they do take some getting used too.

And there we have it. that was the makeup and books tag. what is your favourite makeup item? Any eyeshadow pallets I should check out? I won’t tag anyone specific, but if you want to do this tag, consider yourself tagged. I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again very soon.
