Another year has been and gone and that means that it is time for me to wrap up my reading year? I have made this post for the last 2 years now and I love it. I love being able to really easily look back on how I did each year. so, I am doing it again. A lot of the information I am going to be talking about has been pulled from my Goodreads (which I update religiously throughout the year). so, let’s do this!
In 2018 I read a grand total of 122 books, smashing my 100 book target, and beating my own personal record (111 books in 2017). 13 of these were rereads, but the other 109 where all brand new to me, at least 18 one of which were also new releases, published in 2018. Overall I read 42645 pages. With my average book length being 349 pages long. My shortest read was The Polar Express coming in at just 32 pages and my longest read was Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer (a reread) with a whopping 756 pages.
Of the 122 books I read this year I ended up rating 82 of them 4 stars of higher! I was so lucky this year. I read some truly incredible books. but on the other hand, I DNF’d 2 and rated most of the other 40 books that I read 2 stars or lower! I seemed to either read incredible or terrible books this year. It was one extreme or another! And this means that my average rating was 3.6.
I am so pleased with how I did in 2018. I had a really strange reading year and at times I didn’t think I would meet my goal. I had a reading slump at the start of the year and really struggled to keep up with reading 2 books a week. and then over the summer, I had a couple of really manic reading months where I was reading up to 6 books a week (I was very unhappy at work and suffering with insomnia because of it). but then struggled again towards the end of the year (ah, the issues with trying to settle into a new job lol). But I made it. I stuck at it and I made it. I am so proud of myself for achieving my goals. So, here are all of the books that I read in 2018, unfortunately not in order, as it kept changing it out of order…
I am so proud of myself for doing so well last year. I cleared a massive chunk of my never ending TBR pile and have really motivated myself to keep reading. I love being able to post two book reviews a week. If you are wondering all the books that I read in 2018 (except for a few of the rereads (infernal devices, twilight etc)) has a full, spoiler free book review up on this blog. Just search the book title, and it will be there. Hopefully, I will be able to say the same thing in a year. So, here is hoping that I have just as good a reading year in 2019.
How was your reading year? Did you get through everything that you wanted to read? What was your favourite? If you would like any more information about my reading year, or any of the books that I have mentioned, I have linked my Goodreads wrap up bellow. I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again soon. Happy reading
