Book Review: Snowed In by Rachel Hawthorne

Hey Guys!

Its day 24! Its Christmas eve!!! I can’t believe that it is Christmas is tomorrow! This month has gone by so freaking quickly! Oh well, today I thought that it would be nice to do a bonus festive book review, so today it is all about Snowed In by Rachel Hawthorne. Let’s do this!

Firstly, this is not a Christmas book. I don’t know why it always comes up whenever I search for YA Christmas books because it is not a Christmas book. at all. It is not set at Christmas, it does not feature Christmas, in fact, Christmas is never even mentioned in it. it is not a Christmas book and I am instantly disappointed. It is also a little bit terrible.

When you think about a stereotypical teen winter romance book, you are probably thinking about this book. every trope that you can imagine was in this book. we had insta love, insta friendship, love triangles, ‘I don’t date’ daters. You name it, it was in this book. it was one of the least original books that I think I have ever read. it was completely infuriating. I ended up wanting to slap every single one of the characters at least once while reading this book.

I knew that this book wasn’t going to be anything incredible. I knew that it wasn’t going to be original or ground-breaking. I was expecting the writing to be a bit crap and the characters to be underdeveloped. And so I wasn’t at all surprised when all my predictions turned out to be true. But I was also expecting this book to be fluffy and festive and heart-warming and it wasn’t any of those things. I didn’t like the pairing in this book, there wasn’t enough of the pair to make the story heart-warming. The character growth was predictable and boring. And I swear, if I had to read one more sentence about how cold it is, I would have set the book alight.

All in all, it is safe to say that I did not enjoy this book. at all. It was poorly written, with unlikable characters, a kind of crap romance and just a weak story. also, I listen to the audiobook for it which I would not recommend doing as the narrator does a very questionable and irritating Texan accent in it. This just was not a good book

I’m not having the best luck with festive books this year. Kind of sucks that this is the final book review of Blogmas…. oh well, can’t be helped. Have you ever read this book? please tell me you enjoyed it more than I did. I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again tomorrow for the final day of Blogmas.
