Book Review: How The Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr Seuss

Hey Guys!

Its day 23! Only 2 days to go! Whoop, whoop! And it is time for another book review! Today it is all about How The Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr Seuss. Let’s do this!

You may be shocked to hear this but I have never read the Grinch before. In fact, I haven’t really read many Dr Seuss books. The only one I can actually remember reading is Green Eggs And Ham. Dr Seuss just seemed to pass me by as a child (no idea how). But a few months ago, when I saw the trailer for the new film, I realised that I hadn’t ever read the book, so I thought that it was about time that I rectified it.

I ended up really liking this book. generally speaking, I don’t read picture books. I just don’t. I can’t actually remember the last time I did. And I had forgotten how fun they are. I found it strangely enjoyable to read something that rhymed. I actually ended up reading this out loud to myself, because I liked the way that it sounded. And yes, I am aware of how sad that sentence is. It was just fun to read.

And I liked the actual story as well. I knew the basics of it, I mean, I grew up watching the original film (fun fact, The Grinch used to terrify me. I had nightmares about him. Thanks Jim Carey!). But I didn’t know the exact details of it. I really liked it. it was short and festive and funny. It instantly put me in a festive mood. And I loved looking at the illustrations. It made the story that much better.

I think it is safe to say that I may be reading more picture books in future. It was really nice to explore a story that I grew up with

And there we have it. have you read The Grinch? Do you ever read any picture books? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again tomorrow.
