Its day 14 of Blogmas and time for what is becoming an annual tradition, my Christmas nails post. If you have followed me for a long time, then you will know that pretty much the only cosmetic activity that I actually enjoy is painting my nails. I love it. and I change my nails all the time. And for me there is nothing better than getting into the Christmas spirit with some festive nails. So today I am going to be talking all about what I am doing for my nails during this festive period. So without further ado, let’s do this!
At the moment I am actually really loving more simple nails. Usually at Christmas I go a bit over the top. We are talking making my nails look like Christmas presents, candy cane nails, so much glitter that I am still trying to get it off in march…the more festive the better. But this year I’m not really feeling that. I am finding myself drawn more to simpler designs. So far this December I have mainly found myself just going for one single colour. And nothing else. The colour that I have been reaching for is a firm festive favourite of mine that I have loved for a few years now and that is the Barry M shade, Sparkling Ruby. This was a limited edition, Gelly Shade, that I have had for a few years now and it is incredible. I really wish that they would bring this back as part of their permeant collection as I only have a couple of years’ worth left of it. this shade is just perfect for this time of year. It is, as the name suggests, a ruby colour with an undercurrent of light glitter in it. this shade isn’t in your face or at all ott, but it is just incredibly festive. I have worn this for the last few years (usually with one gold glittery nail on each hand, but not this year) for the last 2 or 3 years and I just love it. it is beautiful.
And that is literally all I have really been reaching for this year. As we get closer towards Christmas I am slowly getting slightly more inspired and I think that I may do something a bit glitterier for the last week leading up to Christmas. I will most likely use the Body Shop nail varnish in the shade Silver Metal, or possibly Gold Metal. These are as the title suggest, just pure metal shades. They are hands down the best metal shades around. I will probably use one of them with a glitter top coat over it on my ring fingers. Just that little bit of sparkle. But, then I may also just end up sticking to my Christmas red. Who knows.
Do you do anything special with your nails at Christmas? Am I the only person who likes doing something a bit different and festive I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again tomorrow.
