Its day 6 of Blogmas! And that means that we are nearly a week into this and I have yet to do a first impressions post. So, lets rectify that today. Today it is time for my first impressions on the Body Shop’s Christmas Scent. Lets do this!
If you have been following me for a long time, then you will know that every single year I buy myself one if not all of The Body Shops limited edition Christmas scents. I always get the hand creams and I use them throughout December. They just always smell so good. any every year I do a first impressions posts about what I think of this year’s scent/s. for the last few years I have been a bit disappointed by them if I am completely honest with you. the scents have been a bit samey. But this year, I decided to get all three of the scents, and give them a go. So this is what I think of them.
Side note, this post is just about the scent and not the actual product. I have been using their hand creams for about 10 years, so there is no point doing a first impressions post and them. The Body Shop does one of the best hand creams that is around. If you are looking for a good hand cream, buy a Body Shop one.
Berry Bon Bon – I am actually pleasantly surprised by this one. usually the berry scent that they release is my least favourite of the collection. In fact, for that last few years, I have hated it. it has either smelt exactly the same as the previous year or just smells really artificial and perfume-y, which gives me an instant headache. But this year, it is actually really nice. It is a lot more fruit based this year, which is really nice. There is a really pretty raspberry undertone to the whole scent which makes it a really pleasant scent. It isn’t artificial like it has been in previous years. It also has some sweet undertones to it, which again is really nice. I’m not sure how festive the scent is, but it is a nice scent.
Peppermint Candy Cane – this is hands down my favourite of the three scents. It is just amazing. I love minty scents at the best of times and this one is just perfect. Ir does actually smell like a peppermint candy cane. It is minty and sweet and smells good enough to eat. This is the one that I have found myself reaching for the most. I just absolutely love it. it is incredible. very nice and very festive.
Vanilla Marshmallow – this one is probably my least favourite of the three. It smells exactly the same as the vanilla scent from last year. It is sickly sweet and artificially vanilla. I have only used this one once and it gave me an instant headache. It is just too artificial. If you like really, really, sweet scents, then you will probably love this one, but for me it is just too sweet.
And there we have it. those are my thoughts on the Body Shop Christmas scents. what is your favourite from this year’s collection? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again tomorrow.
