Book Review: Flesh and Blood by Simon Cheshire

Hey Guys!

It’s time for another spooky book review. Today it is the turn of a book from the Red Eye series. And that book is Flesh and Blood by Simon Cheshire. So, let’s do this!

This has got to be one of the single weirdest books that I have ever read. It is so strange but I’m not sure that I disliked it. in fact, I found it fairly enjoyable. In a weird way!

This book somehow managed to be exactly like I was expecting and also not what I was expecting at all. It was strange. I had a vague idea about what it was going to be about before I started it but I was completely taken by surprise by some of the story. I just wasn’t quiet expecting it to be like it was. It was a lot more twisted and psychological then I was expecting it to be. I was expecting the torturous element of this book and even some of the other elements of the book. But I was not expecting some of the other themes in this book. Such as the corruption and the medical elements of this book. It all made for a very twisted read.

I think this is one of the single most twisted books that I have read in a long while. I got through this book really quickly. It kept me really hooked. I couldn’t help but want to know what was going to happen. I will admit that the whole book did have a bit of an unrealistic feel to it. there where elements of it that had a ring of reality to them, for instance the rich being able to buy their way out of situations and that the poor are kept poor to aid the wealthy. But the rest of the story could be a incredibly unrealistic. I can’t quiet put my finger on what it was but the whole thing just felt that way. there wasn’t one reason why, it was just a lot of little things.

Overall this was a really good, unnerving book for Halloween, but it wasn’t as good as it could have been. I think if you want a good, quick, spooky read for this time of the year, pick this book up. if you are looking for a ground breaking novel, you may be disappointed by this book.
