Can you believe that July is almost over? Where has this month gone! I swear we were still in June like yesterday! While I freak out about how fleeting time is let’s do a book review. today it is all about Always And Forever Lara Jean by Jenny Han. Let’s do this shiz!
I am so glad that this book exists. It is such a brilliant conclusion to this series and I am so glad that Han decided to write it. it was just the perfect way to wrap up this story.
I will admit that I wasn’t sure what this book was going to be like. I knew that a lot of people had said that they hadn’t wanted it but when they read it they loved it so I really didn’t know what to expect form it or how I would feel about it. but I ended up really loving it. Always And Forever is without a doubt the best finish this story could have gotten. This little book really shows how far the story has come but also how true it has stayed to itself. It still made me smile and laugh like the first book did, it still made me tear up and warmed my heart. But it also contemplate things and see situations in a different light.
I think what I enjoyed most about this book was that we got to see how much the characters have progressed. Particularly Lara Jean. In the first book she was shy and a bit introverted. She was inexperienced and naive and still a kid. But throughout this trilogy we have got to watch her grow as a person and turn into this really brilliant young woman. She has learnt to let people in and open herself up. she has matured and started to truly live life as opposed to just sitting on the side-lines. But most importantly, she has finally allowed herself to love and be happy. She has finally put herself first. She has just developed so much as a character and become so incredible. this change was particularly apparent in this last book and for that reason alone, I am glad that it exists.
but I also love that all the stories got tied up nicely and everything felt nice and finished. All three Song girls know their place in the world. They are all happy and comfortable in their own skins. I love that they have each got what they have always wanted but been afraid to hope for. Margo got her freedom, Lara Jean got love and Kitty got a mum. I just think that it is such a brilliant thing. All three sisters got what they desire and are better people for it but are still sisters and so close. And I just love that.
I will be honest and say that this book was a bit predictable in the storyline department, but then again all the books in this trilogy are. and I kind of like that. I like that these books don’t require a lot of concentration or thought. They don’t require you to try and untangle a web of complicated storylines and plot twists. They just are what they are. they are light and easy and fluffy but have really heart at the centre of them.
All in all, I am so very glad that I decided to give this trilogy a go. It was absolutely incredible and loved every word of it.
