It’s time for my next round of seasonal posts. If you don’t know what I am talking about, essentially, each season I make a series of four posts, each one talking about a certain topic/thing within that season. So, summer photography, winter candles, autumn reads and so on. today I am kicking of my spring posts with my spring nails. Let’s go!
If you saw any of my winter posts a few months ago the you will know that I started off the year feeling really low and just not myself. I was just very flat. And it really affected what I was doing, wearing, generally being. And I still don’t feel 100% back to my normal self, but I am feeling much better than I was. I am definitely starting to feel like me again. So, hopefully, these posts will be slightly more interesting this time around.
So far this spring (which has not been very spring like in the UK. I mean, it was snowing right through march!) there have been three nail varnishes that I have been wearing a lot and loving. All three of these are all old favourites that I have talked about time and time again and they are Black Out from Rimmel London, Black Diamond and Earl Grey by Barry M. Black Out, as the name suggests, is a bog standard, black, nail varnish, although, it is the best black varnish around. Black Diamond is one of Barry M’s Molten Metal’s range. It is a metallic black and is stunning. I love it. it’s a bit subtler then just straight up black and just a nice change. It’s something a little bit different. And Earl Grey was actually a limited edition shade in a limited edition finish. It was a part of the Frosted Cupcake range that they released last year. It is a light grey colour and has a frosty finish to it. it looks almost speckled. I really want them to bring this finish back, because I love it. it is so beautiful and easy to wear.
There is also another Barry M shade that I have been reaching for recently and it is an old favourite that I had completely forgotten about. And that shade is Almond. This is another of their Gelly shades and it is lovely. I had forgotten how much I love this one. It is a very natural grey toned, beige. It is a really easy colour to wear and it goes with everything. I had honestly forgotten just how nice it is. It is perfect for this time of year. Light and fresh but still my style.
I have also worn Penguin Chic by Tanya Burr Cosmetics a couple of times as well. This is very similar to the previous one but darker. It is a brown shade with grey undertones to it. it isn’t too dark, but it isn’t too light either. It also goes with everything and is super easy to wear. Not quite as spring like, but still really nice for this time of year. It is another one that I had completely forgotten about.
And that is it. those are all the shades that I have been loving so far this spring. Slightly more variety then in winter. What shades have you been wearing recently? Any that you think that I should check out? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again very soon.
