Book Review: Quidditch Through The Ages by J K Rowling

Hey Guys!

Happy Sunday! How are you today? Got any plans? For me, it is time for another book review! Today it is all about Quidditch Through The Ages by J K Rowling. Let’s do this!

I love this little book. I read it when it first came out, but never again. Until now. And this time I decided to listen to the new audiobook production of it. I loved the Fantastic Beasts audiobook a few weeks ago and had a feeling that I would love this one as well. I was right. This audiobook was brilliant. Such a amazing production and I adored the bonus content.

I love the Hogwarts Library books. I will admit that it is a bit of a strange feeling reading a nonfiction, fiction book, but I do love them. there is something so nice about learning more about my favourite world. It just adds that extra layer of context to the universe. And I personally think that Quidditch Through The Ages is the most underappreciated of these books. Which is a shame since it is brilliant.

We all think that we know Quidditch but when you read this book you suddenly realise how little you actually know. In the Potter books you only really scratch the surface of the game. But this little book explores its complex and interesting history and it’s origins. I also love that you can see how the game has evolved and changed over time. You can truly see how much thought Rowling has put into this sport. You cannot fault her imagination and commitment to the world that she has created.

And I cannot speak highly enough of the bonus content in the new audio production. It was such a nice, unexpected surprise, to see a little snippet of our favourite characters. I loved that we got to hear a whole Quidditch game. And I love that we heard it from Ginny. I also really loved Rita Seeker. It is nice to know that despite everything, she hasn’t changed at all.

If you have never read this book, you really should. I would also highly recommend the audiobook for it. there are multiple narrators, bonus material and sound effects. It is a really nice experience.

And there we have it. have you read any of the Hogwarts Library books? I have read all of them at least once. I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again very soon.
