Book Review: Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater

Hey Guys!

It’s book review time! And this week I am continuing with what is fast becoming one of my favourite series. Yep, it is time for the next book in The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater. So without further ado, here is my review for Blue Lily, Lily Blue

God I love these books! They are just so good! The story just keeps getting better and better and better! It is amazing and I love it.

I will be 100% honest and admit that Blue Lily, Lily Blue is probably my least favourite of the series so far, even though I did still really enjoy it. the reason why I say this is because it felt a little bit filler-y at times. As if it existed purely to bridge the gap between the second and fourth books. This wasn’t the case all the time, but it had several moments where it did feel this way. But, even with this, I did still really like the storylines in it.

I feel like each book in this series is getting slightly darker. Personally I really like this. It is mirroring the events in the story really well. With each book you are seeing the storyline progress and you are watching it impact on the characters and change them, making them all slightly darker. Slightly more damaged. Slightly less human. And I love it. not many books show the impact of evens on the character’s mental stability, but this series really is. I mean, we have seen Noah losing control, Gansey becoming more vulnerable, Adam losing himself and more. I am really interested to see what the final book holds for this group.

But what I love most is the fact that you never know what is going to happen next. This series just keeps throwing unexpected twists at you. It is impossible to predict. It really keeps you drawn into the story and pulls you into the world. Throughout this book I kept just finding myself in shock at what was happening.

Overall, I did really enjoy this book. As with the previous two books, I listened to the audiobook for this (which I do highly recommend as they are really good, although you will need to speed them up. He talks slow) and I got through it in under two days. I just couldn’t stop listening to it. I can’t see myself waiting long for the final book (especially with that ending!)

star 4.54.5 out of 5

And there we go. I really do love this series. I am so glad that I decided to pick it up and give it a chance. Have you read this series yet? What do you think about it? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again soon.
