First Impressions: Tanya Burr Cosmetics, Lucky Penny, Lip Balm

Hey Guys!

Welcome to day 20! We are so nearly there! Whoop whoop! Today I am doing my third and final Christmassy first impressions post. This time it is for the Tanya Burr Cosmetics, Lucky Penny, Lip Balm. Let’s do this!

I kind of have mixed feelings about this one. I like it, but I don’t find it particularly good. Let me explain. The product itself is pretty nice. It is peppermint scented, although it is very subtle, which in itself is pretty nice. I like that the scent isn’t to in your face. I also really like the texture of it. it is a soft balm, which is really easy to pick up, although it does feel very lipsticky when it is on. the other thing I like about it is somewhat unexpected. I like the tint. I will be 100% honest with you. I did not know that this lip balm was tinted when I brought it. if I had, I probably wouldn’t have brought it as I am not a big fan of tinted lip balms in general (the colours are usually horrible, they are a pain to apply as you have to be really careful, they never look very nice etc. etc.), but this one is really nice. It is a very soft pink colour and when on the lips, you cannot tell that you have anything on. it just adds a really healthy looking sheen to your lips. Makes them look pink and plum and like they are really soft and moisturised. I was not expecting this, but I like it.

What I don’t like about the product is that I don’t feel like it does anything. It doesn’t really make my lips feel any softer or more moisturised. I doubt it would give me any relief from chapped lips, which is a shame. If it did leave my lips feeling moisturised, I would freaking love this product. But because it doesn’t, it seems like a waste of time.

Yes, it makes you lips look healthy, but what’s the point if underneath that they are still dry and sore? If the moisturising element of this one was better, this would be a holy grail product. It’s also kind of awkward to carry round. It is a big lip balm. Nearly double the size of a Vaseline tin. It just isn’t that convenient to carry it around.

Overall, I like it, I don’t love it. it could be better, but I’ve encountered far worse. Have you tried this product? What did you think about it? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again tomorrow.
