Books That I Am Excited For

Hey Guys!

Earlier this year I started making quarterly posts about books that are coming out over the following few months that I am really excited for. And today it is time for the next one. This time around I have noticed that most of the books that I am excited for pretty much all come out in October, with only two in November and so far, there are no books being released in December that I am looking forward to. But anywho, let’s get to the actual post.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Illustrated Edition by J K Rowling – 3rd October 2017

An extraordinary creative achievement by an extraordinary talent, Jim Kay’s inspired reimagining of J.K. Rowling’s classic series has captured a devoted following worldwide. This stunning new fully illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban brings more breath-taking scenes and unforgettable characters – including Sirius Black, Remus Lupin and Professor Trelawney. With paint, pencil and pixels, Kay conjures the wizarding world as we have never seen it before. Fizzing with magic and brimming with humour, this full-colour edition will captivate fans and new readers alike as Harry, now in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, faces Dementors, death omens and – of course – danger.

I am so excited for this one. I already own the first two books in these editions and I cannot wait to get my hands on this one. All of these are just so damn beautiful. Unfortunately, I cannot buy this one when it come out. My sister is buying me each book that comes out for Christmas that year, so I have to wait to for it. oh well, it will be worth it.

Spellslinger: Shadowblack by Sebastian De Castell – 5th October 2017

SORCERY IS A SCAM . . . The second book in the page-turning SPELLSLINGER fantasy series.

Four months after fleeing his own people, Kellen has discovered he’s an even worse outlaw than he was mage. It doesn’t help that his only allies are a swaggering card player and a thieving squirrel cat.

Then he meets Seneira, a blindfolded girl who isn’t blind, and whose secrets get them caught up in a conspiracy of magic, blackmail and murder. Now Kellen must find the mage responsible before the entire frontier falls victim to the mystical plague known as the shadowblack.

I am so excited for this book. It is the second book in the Spellslinger series and oh my god, I need it now! I read the first book basically as soon as it came out earlier this year and completely loved it. it was amazing. Everyone needs to read it. I cannot wait for the rest of the series. I need this books

It Only Happens In The Movies by Holly Bourne – 5th October 2017

Audrey is over romance. Since her parents’ relationship imploded her mother’s been catatonic, so she takes a cinema job to get out of the house. But there she meets wannabe film-maker Harry. Nobody expects Audrey and Harry to fall in love as hard and fast as they do. But that doesn’t mean things are easy. Because real love isn’t like the movies…

The greatest love story ever told doesn’t feature kissing in the snow or racing to airports. It features pain and confusion and hope and wonder and a ban on cheesy clichés. Oh, and zombies… YA star Holly Bourne tackles real love in this hugely funny and poignant novel.

This book sounds like it will be really good. I currently have Am I Normal Yet? By Bourne on my TBR and I really want to read it. But I think I may end up reading this one before it. I feel like this is going to be a really good read.

Turtles All The Way Down by John Green – 10th October 2017

It all begins with a fugitive billionaire and the promise of a cash reward. Turtles All the Way Down is about lifelong friendship, the intimacy of an unexpected reunion, Star Wars fan fiction, and tuatara. But at its heart is Aza Holmes, a young woman navigating daily existence within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

In his long-awaited return, John Green shares Aza’s story with shattering, unflinching clarity.

I have only read a couple of John Green’s novels (The Fault In Our Stars and Paper Towns), although I do have more on my TBR. Personally, I don’t really get what all the fuss is about with him, but I am interested to see what this new book is going to be like, especially seeing’s as it has been so long (5 years) since he released anything. I am interested to see if his writing has changed/developed in any way since TFIOS.

Dear Martin by Nic Stone – 17th October 2017

Justyce McAllister is top of his class and set for the Ivy League–but none of that matters to the police officer who just put him in handcuffs. And despite leaving his rough neighbourhood behind, he can’t escape the scorn of his former peers or the ridicule of his new classmates.

Justyce looks to the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for answers. But do they hold up anymore? He starts a journal to Dr. King to find out.

Then comes the day Justyce goes driving with his best friend, Manny, windows rolled down, music turned up–way up, sparking the fury of a white off-duty cop beside them. Words fly. Shots are fired. Justyce and Manny are caught in the crosshairs. In the media fallout, it’s Justyce who is under attack.

I read The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas earlier this year and it was one of the best books that I have read this year. So brilliantly written and such an important topic. Since reading that I have heard a lot of people recommend this as a kind of ‘if you liked that, you’ll like this’ kind of thing. And it sounds as if it is going to be really good and cover a really important topic. I really want to read this on.

A Darker Shade Of Magic Collector’s Edition by V E Schwab – 31st October 2017

A Darker Shade of Magic, the first book in V.E. Schwab’s New York Times bestselling Shades of Magic trilogy, is now available in a special collector’s edition.

With a revamped, metallic ink detailed cover and reading ribbon, this edition will also feature the following bonus material:
*End papers featuring fan art
*A glossary of Arnesian and Antari terms
*An interview between author and editor
*Original (never before seen!) tales from within the Shades of Magic world

Kell is one of the last Antarimagicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel Londons; Red, Grey, White, and, once upon a time, Black.

Kell was raised in ArnesRed Londonand officially serves the Maresh Empire as an ambassador, traveling between the frequent bloody regime changes in White London and the court of George III in the dullest of Londons, the one without any magic left to see.

Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.

After an exchange goes awry, Kell escapes to Grey London and runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She first robs him, then saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.

Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.

I NEED THIS! I am in love with this trilogy and I need this edition. I have read all three books this year and completely fallen in love with them. I am planning on buying the trilogy in the American hardback editions to sit with my English paperbacks and so I need this as well. I need like a Shades Of Magic shrine. I love it. I do know Barnes and Noble are also releasing a different collector’s edition and I may have to try and convince someone in America to send me a copy. I need all the Schwab.

Ever The Hunted by Erin Summerill – 7th November 2017

Seventeen year-old Britta Flannery is at ease only in the woods with her dagger and bow. She spends her days tracking criminals alongside her father, a legendary bounty hunter–that is, until her father is murdered. The alleged killer is none other than Cohen Mackay, her father’s former apprentice. The only friend she’s ever known. The boy she once loved who broke her heart.
She must go on a dangerous quest in a world of warring kingdoms, mad kings, and dark magic to find the real killer. But Britta wields more power than she knows. And soon she will learn what has always made her different will make her a force to be reckoned with.

This has actually been on my wish list for ages but it is finally coming out in paperback. I have heard nothing but good things about this book and I really want to read it. it sounds really good and I cannot wait to read it.

Artemis by Andy Weir – 14th November 2017

Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you’re not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you’ve got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down. But pulling off the impossible is just the start of Jazz’s problems, as she learns that she’s stepped square into a conspiracy for control of Artemis itself – and that now, her only chance at survival lies in a gambit even more unlikely than the first.

I read The Martian last year and I really fecking loved it. it was such a brilliant story and so funny. It was one of the few SCI-FI books that I actually enjoyed. It was so good and I am really interested to see what Weir has come up with next. I will probably listen to this as an audiobook, like I did with The Martian. I am really excited for this one.

And there we have it. those are some of the books that I am excited for that are being released over the next few months. There aren’t that many over the next couple of months, and several of these I probably won’t buy until they are out in paperback. But anyway, what are you excited for? Any books that I should check out? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again soon
