Book Review: A Conjuring Of Light by V E Schwab

Hey Guys!

Welcome back. Today it is time for another book review and this week I am finishing what has instantly become one of my all-time favourite trilogies. I am of course talking about the Shades Of Magic trilogy by V E Schwab. So, without further ado, here is my review for A Conjuring Of Light.

Oh my poor heart. I think I just cried the whole way through the last section of that book. I just couldn’t handle it. this whole trilogy has been incredible and I love it so much. This was the perfect end to this story.

I knew that the storylines in this book where going to be intense, especially considering the way A Gathering Of Shadows left off, but this was even more intense than I thought that it would. Schwab has this amazing ability to bring this world to life and to make really feel it. throughout this book I was just honestly rooting for these characters, for this world, to make it through and win, with all of my heart. It has been a long time since I read a book where every single character felt so real and that I connected to so dramatically that my heart actually hurt for them. that is how real this world feels. It feels like your home. I haven’t felt this way about a book since I read Potter for the first time. I am currently so glad that Schwab is writing more books in this universe.

I loved this book. I really did. I loved that the storyline in this book was so complex. There where so many layer to it. you got to see a really well rounded view of the story as you where hearing it from so many different people. This meant that even though half of the characters spent most of the book purely locked inside the palace, it never got even slightly boring. You were always moving from one part of the story to another. And there where so many little storylines all weaved into the main one. I loved that we got to see all these little snippets of other stories alongside the main storyline. Although I will the main storyline was intense as hell. I feel like it was the everything I wanted it to be, and more.

I also loved the characters in this book. I love that you got to see their strengths and their weaknesses. It really helped to make them feel more human and made me connect to them that bit more. I love how much Lila has grown throughout this series. she is still such a bad ass and I love that about her. More books need a Lila Bard. I also I feel the same way about Kell. Yes, he is still a bit lost and still a bit damaged, but he has found so much of himself and found his happiness and his freedom. Plus, I think Lila and Kell are the best couple ever. Although saying that I do also love Alucard and Rhy. I am so glad that they ended up working it out. I’ve even grown to like Holland.

This whole book was absolutely incredible. I really love the fact that the end of the book didn’t sugar coat things. It showed that even after the evil has been defeated and the good have won that it isn’t always a happy ending. That there are still scars and wounds that won’t heal. That not everything will always be perfect.

I honestly cannot tell you how much I loved this book and how much I adore this trilogy. It is, without a doubt, one of my all-time favourite trilogies and I honestly want to read it again already. Have you read this series yet? Do you share my undying love for it? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you again soon, when I am less of an emotional wreck.
