Book Review: The House Of Hades by Rick Riordan

Hey Guys!

Happy Sunday! How are you all today? Up to anything interesting? I’m planning to spend my whole day reading J (surprise surprise lol). Anyway, it is time for another book review. Today I am, once again, continuing the Heroes Of Olympus series by Rick Riordan. This time it is the turn of The House Of Hades. Letsa go!

I love these books, I love these books, I love these books! This series just keeps getting better and better with each book. I love it. considering how sceptical I was going into this series, I have ended up absolutely adoring it. I am flying through this series. I am so glad that I finally decided to pick them up.

This book was just nonstop. There wasn’t a single moment when I was bored while reading this. I love that with this series it switches between multiple different perspectives. It really helps to progress the story and keep it going to a really fast pace. And each character/POV has a separate storyline, within the main story. This is part of the reason why these books are so good. The storyline if like a rope. Lots of smaller storylines all woven together to make up the main one. I really like it. it means that as soon as one storyline reaches the point where it could potentially stagnate, or where you may just get bored of it, it switches to someone else’s POV and their storyline. It is honestly brilliant. I think this really started to come into its own in this book particularly. Having the group so divided just meant that this worked so brilliantly. It not only kept the story moving, but also painted a really well rounded view of what was happening.

I also feel like the storylines in this series are getting darker and darker. In this book in particular there are several moments when I just found myself thinking ‘shit’. Personally, I really like this. It is almost elevating this series from a middle grade to a YA. It is brilliant. And it is making the storylines that bit more gripping. I just didn’t want to put this one down. I needed to know the story.

And the characters in this book. Oh my god. So many feels! Percybeth is freaking adorable and I love them. but then so is everyone else. I was a little annoyed when everyone was paired off in the first/second book, but I actually really like it. everyone is just so damn cute. And don’t even get me started on Nico. I love that kid. Yes, he may be grumpy and angst-y and a bit of a shit sometimes, but he is such an adorable little cupcake. I just want to give him a hug and tell him it’s okay.

Overall I think this may be my favourite book of the series so far. It was honestly so good. I cannot tell you how much I loved it. honestly if you haven’t read this series yet, you need too.

star 4.54.5 out of 5

I cannot see that I will manage to wait long before starting the final book. I can’t believe how quickly I have gotten through these books. Have you read Heroes Of Olympus yet? How do you feel about it? I hope that you have enjoyed todays post and I will see you all again very soon.
