Book Review: Life On Hold by Karen McQuestion

Hey Guys!
It’s time for another book review. And, like last week, it was an audio book. This time it was ‘life on hold’ by Karen McQuestion.

I can’t make up my mind about ‘life on hold’. It was quiet well written and Rae was likeable enough but apart from that, i don’t know. I found hat the story was very predictable. From the off I instantly knew that Rae would end up rebeling, and that Gina would be unloving etc etc. All of Allison’s plot twists where increadably obvious and the book was just generally lacking any surprise. All the plot ‘twists’ where so spelled out and hinted at that I was left feeling very underwhelmed. And, furthermore, i found that the books blurb and description didn’t really give an accurate picture of the story.
Now, don’t get e wrong. I did think that the story was fairly imaginative and generally quiet interesting. I just found it quiet wearing. Apart from Rae and maybe Kylie, i found all the other characters where very shallow and generally just really two dimensional. Really underdeveloped. There just wasn’t a by depth to them. Gina was shallow and stubborn, Alison your bog standard depressed teen, Nick your stereotypical good guy. You even had a midget and a nerd. It was all just a bit overplayed.
If you are looking for a book that is very easy to read, without much depth, this is perfect for you. Personally, i won’t be reading anything else by McQuestion.
